It can be hard to find all of the great writing retreat centers, cruises, camps, and seminars that are ready to welcome you.  At this site, we are building a directory of retreats for writers -- whether a facility or an event -- to give you a one-stop resource.

• Bali/Ubud: Write for Your Life Retreat. Six-day retreat held at a holistic retreat center with swimming pools, spa, and yoga studio. Includes daily writing instruction, all meals, a massage, optional daily yoga class, and other special events. Open for individual registration.

• France/Aix-on Provence and Mexico/Puerto Vallerta: Laguna Writers Retreat. Week-long retreats led by Chris Delorenzo, a creative writing instructor, in a shared private home.

• France/Lyon: Writers on Fire Retreats. Week-long retreats for writers at all levels and in all genres, led by Rachel Resnick, a published author and writing instructor. Accommodations in a private, historic chateau.

• India/South Goa: Riverview Villa Retreat. Private rental home available for individual retreats. Offers Western-style accommodations, full kitchen, WiFi & TV service, daily cleaning, and on-site manager. Riverfront setting in a traditional Indian village.

• Italy/Assisi: Playwriting Workshop. Led by director and dramaturg Jayne Wenger through Art Workshops International. Lodging and meals in a local hotel.   

• Mexico/San Pancho: Tailwind Jungle Lodge. Collection of bungalows for use by individual or group retreats at end Eagle Lodge in a jungle setting. Kitchenettes for cooking; catered meals can be arranged. No Internet access on site; WiFi services available in nearby town.

• US & Canada (various locations): Writing Your LIfe Retreats. Multi-day workshop events held at retreat centers. Led by a published comedy writer and actress.

US West: Writing Retreat Centers and Events

• Aptos: Mushroom Cabin. A dome-style cabin in the woods for individual writing retreats. Includes a kitchenette, wireless Internet access, and a large deck.  
  

Colorado

• Carbondale: Writer's Ranch. Space for multi-day individual writing retreats in a guest house shared with other writers or artists. Private bedroom, shared kitchen for meal preparation; country setting.

• Cascade: Sanctuary of the Rose. Historic, private guesthouse for individual writing retreats. Includes kitchenette, gas fireplace, WiFi, patio and mountain views.

• Hotchkiss: Inn the Orchard Writer's Retreat.  A bed-and-breakfast that welcomes writers anytime, but dedicates selected weeks each year for writing retreats. Weekly retreats include meals. Some shared baths. Located in  a working orchard.

Hawaii

• Maui/North Shore: Maui Chalet. Private home available for rental as an individual or small group retreat space. High-speed Internet available; secluded setting. Walk or short drive to nearby towns and activities.

• Oahu: Writers on Fire Retreats. Week-long retreats for writers at all levels and in all genres, led by Rachel Resnick, a published author and writing instructor. Accommodations in a shared, private, beachfront home.
