It can be hard to find all of the great writing retreat centers, cruises, camps, and seminars that are ready to welcome you.  At this site, we are building a directory of retreats for writers -- whether a facility or an event -- to give you a one-stop resource.

• Eureka Springs: Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow. Offers residencies of 1 week to 3 months for writers in all forms. Accommodations in private writing suites; all meals included. Ideal for concentrated writing time; nearby natural and artistic attractions.

• France/Aix-on Provence and Mexico/Puerto Vallerta: Laguna Writers Retreat. Week-long retreats led by Chris Delorenzo, a creative writing instructor, in a shared private home.

• France/Lyon: Writers on Fire Retreats. Week-long retreats for writers at all levels and in all genres, led by Rachel Resnick, a published author and writing instructor. Accommodations in a private, historic chateau.

• France/Paris: Paris Writers Retreat. Week-long writing and publishing retreat held in a private loft. Let by an author and literary agent, with guest artists and filmmakers.

• India/South Goa: Riverview Villa Retreat. Private rental home available for individual retreats. Offers Western-style accommodations, full kitchen, WiFi & TV service, daily cleaning, and on-site manager. Riverfront setting in a traditional Indian village.

• Italy/Assisi: Playwriting Workshop. Led by director and dramaturg Jayne Wenger through Art Workshops International. Lodging and meals in a local hotel.   

• Mexico/San Pancho: Tailwind Jungle Lodge. Collection of bungalows for use by individual or group retreats at end Eagle Lodge in a jungle setting. Kitchenettes for cooking; catered meals can be arranged. No Internet access on site; WiFi services available in nearby town.

• Thailand/Various locations: Thailand Writers Retreat. Week-long writing and story development retreat. Let by an author and literary agent, with guest authors.

• Turkey/Istanbul: Writing Istanbul. Weeklong retreat events for poetry and personal experience writing. Includes workshops, some meals, and tours led by published authors and local writers. Lodgings in local hotels.

• US & Canada (various locations): Writing Your LIfe Retreats. Multi-day workshop events held at retreat centers. Led by a published comedy writer and actress.
