I'm thrilled to be invited as the first artist in residence at the new Arts Sanctuary space, a collaborative effort of Issaquah Arts and Our Savior Lutheran Church. I will use the period of September 5-October 4, 2024 to complete work on my Trees of Memory Future project, a large-scale textile artwork about the impact of climate change on Pacific Northwest native trees.
To the extent possible, the 12 panels use rescued and repurposed materials, with techniques such as fabric collage, rustic stitching, crochet, photography, molding, and embellishment.
You are invited to see my work in progress during these open studio hours:
Tuesday, September 17, 7:00 PM-9:00 PM
Thursday, September 19, 10:00 AM-noon
Saturday, September 21, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM
Thursday, September 26, 10:00 AM-noon
And you can make your own forest-theme textile collage when I lead a free art-making workshop, suitable for all ages on Friday, October 4, 4:00 PM-5:00 PM.
All events are at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S. in Issaquah.
